The COVID-19 pandemic’s claim on the maritime industry
Due to the pandemic, an unprecedented event of massive job loss and displacement of seafarers. MARINA and other relevant institutions promptly addressed the issue with improvement in policies, standards, and guidelines for the gradual recovery of the maritime industry.

MARINA’s goal to provide accessible training programs to the Filipino community has spurred them to implement a maritime training system and education based on the requirements of the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
