How To Get a WINDA ID

Before you take a GWO Basic Safety Course, you will be asked to provide a WINDA ID.

WINDA ID is a unique, random and system generated number which serves as the main Delegate identification. It is therefore important that you always keep your WINDA profile active and up-to-date, and that you supply employers and Training Providers with your ID when requested.

WINDA operates with three user profiles:

  • Training providers are able to upload records of delegates and use WINDA to complement existing site management systems
  • Employers are able to use WINDA to verify the current training status of delegates
  • Delegates are able to login to WINDA access personal verified information on the status and validity of training courses completed, e.g. to demonstrate their training status to current and future employers

You need to sign in or register as a Delegate at winda.globalwindsafety.org via the “Register” option. Choose to be registered in WINDA as a Delegate and fill out the required information.

Once you have submitted your details, you will automatically be sent an e-mail requesting you to set up the account.

You can watch the tutorial for how you register as a Training Provider in WINDA: https://youtu.be/ZzmYIzzDZ8o

Remember to only register for one profile. If you have multiple WINDA accounts, the Training Provider will not be able to upload records to each account and your accounts may be closed without warning by GWO.

You can view your own training records in WINDA and print a copy of them. The printed copy is not valid as a certificate but it provides your employer with the option to enter the WINDA ID on the certificate and confirm the details.
