With the success of the Navy’s iOS app for workout routines and meal planning, a series of Sailor Workouts will now be available this June 20 for Android users as well. Just like with the original app, the news apps will be free for download.
This will assist sailors with strength development that is needed to perform at their highest level. There are three training phases within the series that are intended to progressively build total work capacity and improve cardiovascular fitness.
These workouts will assist with breaking through training plateaus, while decreasing injuries often associated with traditional endurance training. The workouts can be accomplished in a number of ways, including running, biking, rowing, or using any cardiovascular machine.
The Sandbag Series
This will provide a training plan that can be performed in environments with limited equipment options. It will help them develop the strength and power they need to meet the performance demands placed upon them in any environment. The added challenge of performing traditional exercises with a less stable mass (a sand-filled bag) provides a unique training experience that mimics the demands experienced in day-to-day life.
What’s great about these apps is that they have fueling and regeneration elements that provide meal planning that includes calorie counts, and assistance in addressing common aches and pains.
These series of workouts are part of the Navy Installations Command’s Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling System (NOFFS) program. Once downloaded, the apps will function even without internet connection and mobile reception while on sea making it perfect for sailors.
These apps conveniently helps you as you either do your maritime training in the Philippines and other places or become more fit as you do your sailor duties.
