The actions are taken worldwide and within the Philippines, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, have severely affected the conduct of training, revalidation of certificates, and ship to shore interactions including effecting crew changes.
In March 2020, OPITO implemented a certificate extension process to support the impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic. This process was originally scheduled to draw to a close on 1st May 2021.
There has been a technical difficulty with the WINDA Portal. The issue entails that the delegate may not receive an email with a registration link / notification email from WINDA and are therefore not able to create a profile. GWO is working hard to resolve the issue and expect a resolution the soonest.
Delegates successfully completing the Initial Training Programme will be issued with an OPITO certificate for the OPITO-approved Stage 1 Rigger Initial Training; they will also be issued with a Stage 2 Logbook to complete.

Duration: Lecture (via online program) - initial recommmendation is 7 days to complete the online program Written Assessment - 30 minutes Practical Exercises - 8 hours |

SMO is a 3-day course that aim to equip trainees with skills on safe mooring operations. The training covers lecture and practical exercises on mooring rope inspection, operation of mooring winches and windglass and hazards and associated with mooring operation among others.
This Training is for Cadets Ratings, General Purpose(GPs), and Junior Officers
