GWO ISSUE WITH REGISTERING IN WINDA

There has been a technical difficulty with the WINDA Portal. The issue entails that the delegate may not receive an email with a registration link / notification email from WINDA and are therefore not able to create a profile. GWO is working hard to resolve the issue and expect a resolution the soonest.

ISSUANCE OF OPITO RIGGER STAGE 2 LOGBOOK

Delegates successfully completing the Initial Training Programme will be issued with an OPITO certificate for the OPITO-approved Stage 1 Rigger Initial Training; they will also be issued with a Stage 2 Logbook to complete.

IN HOUSE COURSES – CONFINED SPACE ENTRY (CSE) & WORKING AND RESCUE AT HEIGHTS (WRAH)

Confined Space Entry is a one-day course that aims to equip the delegates with necessary skills and knowledge when working and when doing rescue in a confined space. This course covers the lecture and practical exercises on:

  • Introduction to Confined Space
  • Respiratory Hazards
  • Atmosphere Tests Prior to Entry
  • Conditions for Entry into Confined Spaces
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment
  • Work in Confined Spaces
  • Rescue from Confined Spaces
  • Resuscitation

Working and Rescue at Heights (WRAH) is a two-day course that covers the procedures on working at heights and in-depth discussion on the rescue system in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA), Work at Height Regulations 2005, Work at Height (Amendment) Regulations 2007, Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

Trainees will be able to:

  • Familiarize themselves with the laws governing Working and Rescue at Heights safety
  • Acquire knowledge about the work process in Working and Rescue at Heights
  • Learn how to assess risks
  • Identify the quality assurance and work site requirements
  • Determine the different kinds of falls
  • Familiarize themselves with the types of Fall Protection Equipment
  • Familiarize themselves with and select the types of Personal Fall Protection Equipment
  • Care, maintain and inspect the Personal Fall Protection Equipment
  • Know the considerations for incidents during Working and Rescue at Heights
  • Know how to care, use, maintain and inspect the Rescue Kit
  • Become familiar with the types of knots
  • Differentiate between the Hauling and Lowering System
  • Gain knowledge about Suspension Intolerance Considerations
